Preview: Bremond Tigers vs. Mart Panthers
Bremond is 9-1 against Mart since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bremond Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Mart Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bremond has 20 straight victories, Mart has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bremond put the finishing touches on their 16th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Dawson, posting a 54-19 win at home. Given Bremond's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Dawson is ranked 809th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mart suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-14 loss at the hands of Marlin.
Bremond pushed their record up to 20-0 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.84 points. As for Mart, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Everything went Bremond's way against Mart in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Bremond made off with a 41-17 win. Will Bremond repeat their success, or does Mart have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
