Baseball Game Preview: Wilson Wildcats vs. North Mesquite Stallions

Wilson has gone a perfect 3-0 against North Mesquite recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wilson Wildcats will challenge the North Mesquite Stallions at 7:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

North Mesquite will be up against a hot Wilson squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Wilson's pitcher stepped up to hand Adams an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jesus Fermines was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Juan ?JD? Arranda was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Oliver Minyard, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, North Mesquite got the win against Seagoville on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-0. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for North Mesquite, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-2.

Wilson took their victory against North Mesquite in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 8-2. Will Wilson repeat their success, or does North Mesquite have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
