The Herscher Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Herscher will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Herscher gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Momence by a score of 4-1.

Reed Laird tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Logan Egerton was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Herscher hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Momence struck out 13 times.
Coal City typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Bradley-Bourbonnais proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Coalers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Boilermakers.
Liam Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Shaul, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Herscher's record now sits at 18-3. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their record is now 13-6.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Herscher hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Bradley-Bourbonnais struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Herscher suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Bradley-Bourbonnais in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
