Baseball Recap: Vidor Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Vidor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over the Jasper Bulldogs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-0 win last Tuesday.

Alex Parish tossed a big game, striking out 13 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Kolt Holden was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Austin Guidry, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Vidor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jasper only managed five hits.

Vidor's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jasper, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Coming up, Vidor will head out to take on Bridge City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jasper, they will host Lumberton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Lumberton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
