Basketball Recap: Springbrook Comes Up Short

Springbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westlake Wolverines. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Westlake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Kemper, who posted 11 points and four steals. Kemper also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maurice White, who earned eight points and 11 rebounds.

Springbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Westlake, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
