Softball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.72 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell just short of the Alamogordo Tigers by a score of 12-11. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Mayfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season. As for Alamogordo, they moved to 11-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Mayfield by a score of 11-2 later that day.
