Last Monday, St. Mary Catholic Central didn't have too much trouble with Huron as they won 61-46. Given the Falcons/Kestrels' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Chiefs are ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Jefferson lost to Riverview on the road by a 63-44 margin on Monday. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Mary Catholic Central's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

St. Mary Catholic Central took their victory against Jefferson when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 47-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary Catholic Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
