Tucson High Magnet School barely beat Buena the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Badgers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Colts an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Evannie Flores tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.
At the plate, Sofia Trejo was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Janice Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Tucson High Magnet School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena only posted an OBP of .211.
