Baseball Recap: Oviedo Beats Lake Howell for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Oviedo won the last time they faced Lake Howell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Silverhawks, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won five games in a row.

Henry Thomas looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oviedo is 3-1 when Thomas allows one or fewer hits, but 8-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Oviedo's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bodie Tierney, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Oviedo's record is now 11-15. As for Lake Howell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Oviedo will challenge East River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Howell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
