Basketball Game Preview: Albemarle Bulldogs vs. South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls

Albemarle and South Stanly are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Albemarle Bulldogs will square off against the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Albemarle is looking for their season's first win.

Albemarle's tournament run continued when they took on Cheraw on Saturday. Albemarle took a blow against Cheraw, falling 67-40. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 624th in North Carolina, while the Braves are ranked 210th in South Carolina).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Stanly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Forest Hills 58-36 on Friday. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

South Stanly now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Albemarle, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Albemarle came up short against South Stanly in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 53-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of South Stanly's Gavyn Miller, who posted 22 points and eight rebounds.
