Softball Recap: Erie Extends Winning Streak to Six

Erie put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Niwot Cougars with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Tellena Willert looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Natalie Fetters was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kaitlyn Tafoya was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Erie hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Erie's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Niwot, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Erie is set to challenge their familiar foe Broomfield at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 2, the Eagles 0.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Niwot will face off against rival Legacy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
