Baseball Recap: Denver North Comes Up Short

ThunderRidge hit Denver North with a four-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings fell 8-5 to the Grizzlies. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Leandro Echevarria and Santana Vital stepped up to the plate in a big way. Echevarria went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Vital went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was David Villareal, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Denver North's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for ThunderRidge, their record now sits at 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denver North will head out to take on Denver South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for ThunderRidge, they will head out on the road to challenge Valor Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.89 runs per game on average), something the Grizzlies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
