Darien is 7-1 against Stamford since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blue Wave will face off against the Black Knights at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Darien earned a 9-4 win over Wilton.

While Stamford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Bridgeport Central on Monday. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Black Knights this season.

Vangeli Kelesidis looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, CJ Berlingo and Travis Fuchs did most of the damage at the plate: Berlingo went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Fuchs went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That triple marked the first that Berlingo has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Noe Mercedes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Stamford and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Darien, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.

Darien skirted past Stamford 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Wave since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
