Baseball Recap: Mabel-Canton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Grand Meadow/Kingsland/Leroy-Ostrander

Mabel-Canton scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander Superlarks by a score of 9-8. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Superlarks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Mabel-Canton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Underbakke, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Milton Hutchinson was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Mabel-Canton and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mabel-Canton will head out to take on Southland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, they will venture away from home to challenge Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
