Baseball Recap: Fairfield Central Comes Up Short

If Fairfield Central was riding high fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Richland Northeast last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fairfield Central Griffins fell just short of the Chester Cyclones by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cyclones apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Fairfield Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamari Favors, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Favors' first of the season.

Fairfield Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. The win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Fairfield Central will be playing at home against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chester, they will head out on the road to square off against Fairfield Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
