Softball Recap: Fivay Takes a Loss

If Fivay was riding high fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Bishop McLaughlin Catholic last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fivay Falcons lost 13-2 to the Hudson Cobras on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled against the Cobras recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Fivay saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Bozarth, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Bozarth also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another was Abby Wojcik, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Fivay's record is now 1-4. As for Hudson, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fivay will face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fivay has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Hudson, they will take on Mitchell at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mitchell will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hudson surely won't give up without a fight.
