Basketball Recap: Alameda Falls to California in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Alameda had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California Grizzlies on Saturday. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 22-16 in the first quarter.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Mann, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine assists. Jack Omarra was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Jaiden Jones had a dynamite game For California., scoring 37 points. Another player making a difference was Brayde Kuykendall, who posted 16 points.

Alameda has already played their next contest (against Granada), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for California, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Archbishop Riordan at 7:30 p.m. on December 4.
