Volleyball Recap: Galena Park Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Galena Park won the last time they faced Goose Creek Memorial and things went their way on Saturday too. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 2-0 win over the Patriots.

The victory didn't come easy: Goose Creek Memorial scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21.

Galena Park's offense was headlined by Merci Rue and Cailin Fountain, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Naihlyn Perez and her nine assists. Kaylie Vasquez controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Galena Park pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Galena Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Lamar on the 23rd. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they will venture away from home to square off against Pasadena at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
