 Morehead is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Walkertown is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Morehead Panthers will take on the Walkertown Wolfpack at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Morehead: 2.4, Walkertown: 2.9) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 Morehead gave up the first  runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-8  victory over Northern Guilford.
  Briar Woods and  Carson Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Woods   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Moore   pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). At the plate,  Woods  scored a  run while  getting on base  in two of his five plate appearances, while  Moore  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Lucas Brooks was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Anderson Nance, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Walkertown stacked  a  fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by  a  19-4 margin over T.W. Andrews. The  win was just what Walkertown needed coming off of  a  10-0 defeat in their prior  matchup.
  Lucas Sides was a standout: he went 3-for-3 with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aaron Hester, who  went 2-for-2 with a  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs.
 Morehead's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Walkertown, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Thursday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Morehead has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 11  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Walkertown struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 9.3  per game. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Everything went Morehead's way against Walkertown in their previous matchup  on Tuesday as Morehead made off with  a  10-0 victory. Will Morehead repeat their success,  or does  Walkertown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
