Softball Recap: Redington Comes Up Short

Redington extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They lost 16-6 to the Kenai Central Kardinals. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Huskies' highest-scoring match to date.

Redington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Lyon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Ashlynn Warner also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

As for Kenai Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Kenai Central's side, the team relied heavily on Kailey Stynsberg, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayani Whicker, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

While Redington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
