The St. Thomas More Cavaliers will venture away from home to challenge the Dominican Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Thomas More is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
St. Thomas More is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since June 4, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 11-4 to West De Pere.
St. Thomas More saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Galaszewski, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Dominican got the win against Catholic Central on Monday by a conclusive 10-3. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Tyler Feldbruegge made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Michael Griesel was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Dominican: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Michael Perez-Cruz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Dominican is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Thomas More, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Thomas More has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dominican struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went St. Thomas More's way against Dominican in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as St. Thomas More made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
