There's no place like home for Lewis Cass, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wabash Apaches 46-43. This was payback for the Kings, who suffered a 65-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lewis Cass was led to victory by Brennan Deeter and Brody Hillis. Deeter went 5 of 11 to rack up 14 points and three steals, while Hillis went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points.

Despite the loss, Wabash still got an impressive performance from Jarrett Mcwhirt, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance also gave Mcwhirt a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Another player making a difference was Noah Baldwin, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Lewis Cass' victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-14. As for Wabash, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Lewis Cass will welcome Fort Wayne Canterbury at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. As for Wabash, they will venture away from home to take on Frankton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frankton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Wabash surely won't give up without a fight.
