After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Fall River finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Markesan Hornets, falling 14-2. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Fall River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Stai, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Fall River's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Markesan, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

While Fall River had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
