While Woodland Regional's win against Waterbury Career Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks won by a set and slipped past the Spartans 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Woodland Regional who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 17-25, 25-14, 17-25, 15-9.

Ayla DeCrescenzo paced Woodland Regional's offense, picking up ten kills. DeCrescenzo got some help from Hannah Mishler and her 22 assists. DeCrescenzo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The victory got Woodland Regional back to even at 1-1.

Woodland Regional has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Ansonia on the 5th. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against St. Paul Catholic on the 5th.
