While Appleton North's victory against Oshkosh West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lightning narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 7-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lightning as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Appleton North's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Oshkosh West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Appleton North will take on rival Kaukauna at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lightning 4.1, the Galloping Ghosts 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Oshkosh West is set to face off against their familiar foe Appleton West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
