Basketball Recap: Cedar Mountain Comes Up Short

Cedar Mountain has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sleepy Eye Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 87-61 back in December of 2024.

Cedar Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Sleepy Eye, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Cedar Mountain has already played their next contest (against St. Mary's), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sleepy Eye will look to defend their home court on Sunday against Lester Prairie at 7:30 p.m. Lester Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Sleepy Eye likes a good challenge.
