Softball Recap: Horseshoe Bend Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win

Horseshoe Bend entered their tilt with Valley on Wednesday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Generals have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Brynlee Alford's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Horseshoe Bend's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caralina Tidwell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave Tidwell a new career-high.

Horseshoe Bend pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Looking ahead, Horseshoe Bend will host Central of Clay County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Sylacauga at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Aggies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
