Recap: Lakeside Panthers vs. Evans Knights
The Lakeside Panthers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Evans, posting a 59-29 victory on the road. Given Lakeside's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Evans is ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Asunti Porter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lakeside's points. Another player making a difference was Elise Graybill, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Lakeside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Evans, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Lakeside will head out on the road to take on Grovetown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grovetown will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Evans won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Effingham at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th.
