Volleyball Recap: Westminster's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Westminster was the 2-1 winner over North Forsyth when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Westminster was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly three points. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22.

Sophia Alston paced Westminster's offense, picking up eight kills. Alston got some help from Munday Tyrone and her ten assists. Alston was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westminster fell to 6-1. As for North Forsyth, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Westminster and North Forsyth will both be playing Milton the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
