Baseball Preview: University Prep Panthers vs. Lassen Grizzlies
University Prep and Lassen are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The University Prep Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Lassen Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. University Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Lassen will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, University Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Anderson, taking the game 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for University Prep.
Jacob Lindell looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
On the hitting side, Casey Wrathall was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Kaos Martin was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Lassen entered their match against West Valley on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Lassen took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Valley. It was the first time this season that Lassen let down their fans at home.
Lassen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deshon Moore, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
University Prep's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17. As for Lassen, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-6-1.
