Basketball Recap: Gracie Caperton and Madeline Underwood Secure Win for Clyde

Clyde had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 43-39 W over the Llano Yellowjackets on Tuesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 883rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clyde was led to victory by Madeline Underwood and Gracie Caperton. Underwood dropped a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Caperton posted 20 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Underwood is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 19 games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Llano lost, don't look at Ciara Hays. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Those 21 points gave Hays a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Kuykendall, who earned ten points.

Clyde's record is now 21-10. As for Llano, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Clyde has already played their next game (against Early), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Llano does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
