Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Wenatchee

Wenatchee waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Eastmont Wildcats with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-6 last Tuesday.

Nolan Godfrey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Griffin Butler, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ryan Rainbolt was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Wenatchee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Wenatchee's record now sits at 3-1. As for Eastmont, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wenatchee beat Eastmont by a score of 17-6 later that day.
