Baseball Recap: Westchester Country Day Takes a Loss

Westchester Country Day has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to the Burlington Christian Academy Royals. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Westchester Country Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Engle, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Westchester Country Day and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Burlington Christian Academy, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Looking ahead, Westchester Country Day will face off against Southside Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westchester Country Day is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for Burlington Christian Academy, they will take on Northeast Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northeast Guilford will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Burlington Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
