Softball Recap: Kofa Has No Trouble Against San Luis

Kofa's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the San Luis Sidewinders. For the Kings, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Sidewinders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Hailey Alvarez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Veronica Zazueta, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Alvarez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Kofa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

With the win, Kofa broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-11. As for San Luis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kofa beat San Luis by a score of 13-0 on Thursday.
