Basketball Recap: Antwon West Key Part of a Team Effort in Bobcats Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Munroe took on St. John Paul II on Tuesday. The Munroe Bobcats walked away with a 61-48 victory over the St. John Paul II Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-52 two weeks ago.

Munroe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antwon West, who posted ten points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Zelden Chukes, who had nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Munroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Mario Forbes and Javier Santana certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Forbes dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 boards, while Santana went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. Forbes' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Munroe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for St. John Paul II, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Munroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-32 victory against Wakulla on the 30th. As for St. John Paul II, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-57 win against Pensacola Catholic on the 30th.
