Basketball Recap: Shandon Comes Up Short

Shandon lost to Coastal Christian back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Outlaws were beaten by the Conquerors 82-15. The Outlaws were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-11.

Despite the loss, Shandon had strong showings from Byron Uzeta-Haros, who posted six points and seven rebounds, and Cristobal Cruz, who put up seven points. Cruz has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Shandon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Coastal Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Shandon will challenge Valley Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Outlaws will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Coastal Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Cuyama Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
