Football Game Preview: Sebastian River Sharks vs. West Shore Wildcats

The Sebastian River Sharks are taking a road trip to face off against the West Shore Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Sebastian River easily dispatched West Shore on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Sebastian River fell just short of Martin County by a score of 21-18 on Thursday.

Sebastian River's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabella Bowen, who picked up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Karolina Mliczek, who threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Sebastian River is 2-1 when Mliczek posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Sebastian River didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bowen and Imani Popillion. With that strong performance, Bowen is now averaging an impressive 101.3 receiving yards per game.

Meanwhile, West Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 18-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Carroll Catholic.

Sebastian River's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for West Shore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Sebastian River took their victory against West Shore when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 32-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sebastian River since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
