Soccer Preview: Liberty vs. Hillcrest
The Liberty Bison will head out on the road to square off against the Hillcrest Trojans at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Liberty's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Liberty fell victim to JW North and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillcrest). They put the hurt on Perris with a sharp 8-1 victory on Wednesday. Hillcrest might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.
Their offense was hitting Perris from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Alaa Manasra led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-2. As for Hillcrest, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-3.
