Preview: Richmond Spartans vs. Cameron Dragons
After five games on the road, Richmond is heading back home. They will take on the Cameron Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Richmond has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Richmond came up short against the Huskers and fell 51-41.
Meanwhile, Cameron took a serious blow against the Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 77-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cameron has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Cameron had strong showings from Eme Teel, who scored eight points along with two steals, and Isabel Robinson, who scored ten points. That was a full 38.5% of Cameron's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Richmond dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Cameron, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Richmond came up short against the Dragons in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 47-42. Will Richmond have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
