Baseball Recap: Sandalwood Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sandalwood and Atlantic Coast squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Sandalwood had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Stingrays by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stingrays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Noah Salazar was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was James McLaren, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Sandalwood has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Atlantic Coast, their victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9.

Sandalwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atlantic Coast, they will take on Flagler Palm Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
