Volleyball Recap: West Port Beats Lake Weir for Their Third Straight Win

West Port barely beat Lake Weir the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolf Pack were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hurricanes on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Wolf Pack as they're now sitting on three straight.

While West Port won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 26-24, 25-15.

West Port found their leader in freshman Luis Monserat, who had 19 digs and two aces. Monserat is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 18 or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

West Port was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive games.

West Port now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Lake Weir, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

West Port will welcome Seven Rivers Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolf Pack are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Lake Weir, they will venture away from home to square off against Vanguard at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
