Softball Recap: Largo Drops Season-High Score on Northside Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Largo). Everything went their way against the Northside Christian Mustangs on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-8 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Packers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Paige Sofge made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. Sofge was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Largo let Miranda Rollins and Mia Kabakov run wild. Rollins got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI, while Kabakov got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Kabakov a new career-high. Elle Fleck was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Largo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 15 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Largo pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Northside Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Largo nor Northside Christian have any future games scheduled.
