While Windham's victory against Lordstown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bombers had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won five in a row.
The team relied heavily on Kierrah Sanders, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Bailey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Chalker fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Poland Seminary on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Bulldogs. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Tatum Hudak spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Abby Grimm made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Windham's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Chalker, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Windham has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chalker struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
