Football Recap: Lockland Takes a Loss

Lockland had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it six. They were dealt a 41-6 defeat at the hands of the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory they have posted against Lockland since September 21, 2018.

Miami Valley Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Cameron, who threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Kyle Caldwell got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockland will host New Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' defense has only allowed 8.1 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
