Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Port Allegany

Port Allegany hadn't done well against Coudersport recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Gators walked away with a 7-3 win over the Falcons. Those seven runs were actually the fewest the Gators have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Bria Wilcox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Sienna Lathrop was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Emily Errick also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Port Allegany's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Coudersport, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Port Allegany and Coudersport will both be playing Galeton the next time they take the field. The Gators will head out to face the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Falcons will host them at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th.
