Softball Preview: Yarmouth Clippers vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles
The Yarmouth Clippers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Yarmouth lost 9-3 to Medomak Valley two weeks ago. The defeat continues a trend for the Clippers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Yarmouth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Ararat). They blew past Morse 21-11 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Mt. Ararat's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Yarmouth, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
