Baseball Recap: St. John's Has No Trouble Against Montpelier

St. John's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Montpelier Locomotives with a sharp 10-2 victory. The Bluejays not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 11-1).

TJ Werts and Brayden Pohlman did most of the damage at the plate: Werts went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Pohlman went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That double marked the first that Werts has hit this season. Brayden Klaus was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

St. John's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. John's record now sits at 6-8. As for Montpelier, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 14-3 record.

Coming up, St. John's will face off against Columbus Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montpelier, they will host Delta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
