Softball Game Preview: Comfort Bobcats/Deer vs. Blanco Panthers

For the second straight game, Comfort will face off against Blanco. The Bobcats/Deer will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Comfort is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Blanco on Tuesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Bobcats/Deer haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Blanco's part, Kinley Boyd made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Boyd has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landry Meyer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Caroline Seymour was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Blanco's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-16-1. As for Comfort, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-17.
