Baseball Recap: Cathedral Prep Find Success

Cathedral Prep won the last time they faced LaSalle Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crusaders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Cardinals. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Joseph Browne made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Noah Caraballo was excellent, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Michael Franco was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Cathedral Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for LaSalle Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
