Maize is a perfect 3-0 against Andover Central since April of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will square off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Maize is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 19 games.
Maize's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Kapaun Mt. Carmel 11-0. Considering the Eagles have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Gavin Short made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brodie Jarvis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Parker Meirowsky was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Maize kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Andover Central sidestepped Pittsburg for a 5-4 win.
Maize's record now sits at 22-2. As for Andover Central, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
